How often do GPs see your LO

My in-laws live 30 mins away and see LO once a month for a couple of hours. Wondering how it is in other families?

Same here, we live in the same town.

my kids have no grandparents on their dad’s side, but they see my parents and grandparents about 4/5 times a week. my mum and dad have the three youngest to sleep over most saturday nights (as well as my sister and brother’s kids) and my oldest stays at my grandparent’s house a few nights a week. we all live close together though and we are a very close family.

No grandparents alive my side. Others live in France and see twice a year for 4 days or so a time

If either of mine were alive, they'd be couple hours drive and would likely see every 2 months for a long weekend (well probably more like 8/9 times a year) & 1ce a year for 6/6/7 days

My kids see my mum a few times a week but haven’t seen their other nana since April.

My DC see my DM at our house most weeks, usually twice. We also go and stay with her in the half terms and a week or so at Christmas/Easter, plus a few times in the Summer. She lives 50mins away. No other GC.

PIL see them occasionally, maybe once a month, either here or at theirs. They live 30mins away (same town as DM but closer to us). They see their other GC, who live 3-4hrs away, once every week or two weeks. They go there every time.

They're lovely and clearly love my DC, but it does get to DH sometimes.

My kids are teens now, when they were little we saw my parents once a week (they live an hour away) and my PILs once every couple of months (they live two hours away). It's less often now that the grandparents are all in their 80s and have various health issues.

One side 2/3 times a week (including 2 days of childcare).

Other side, once every 2 weeks plus holidays.

gentlemum · 14/11/2023 13:45

My side several times a week, they live 20 minutes away. Grandma on husband's side also 20 minutes away and we see probably a handful of times a year.

MarleyandMarleyWoo · 14/11/2023 13:45

In laws see my child twice a week, all day one of the days and a few hours on the other.
My mum sees my child every couple of weeks, and generally that’s for much of the day.

BirdDogs · 14/11/2023 13:46

My DC see their maternal grandparents 4 times a week (live 15 mins away). They see their paternal Grandmother twice a year as she lives a short plane journey away.

Ponderingwindow · 14/11/2023 13:46

On one side it’s about the same.

on the other they live extremely far away now and it’s annual or every other year at best.

From your thread title I thought this was going to be about the frequency of doctors visits.

My mum and dad live a 10 minute walk from us, my son probably sees my mum at least 5 times a week and my dad twice a week.

My MIL lives 40 minute drive from us and sees him most weekends, we normally visit her every second weekend and she calls to see us on the alternate weekends. FIL sadly passed away before he was born.

He's 2 years old and is very close to all his grandparents which is lovely.
