Weaning - is this an allergic reaction?

I’ve just started weaning my almost 7 month old and he tried egg for the first time yesterday afternoon, around 1pm. This morning he woke up with red blotches on his left cheek near his mouth. He wasn’t itching them, so I assume they weren’t itchy. But it looked quite red to me. He didn’t seem uncomfortable so I’m not sure if it was sore.

does this sound like an allergic reaction?

I was also outside with him for about 2 or 3 hours yesterday afternoon so I’m not sure if his blotches could have been to do with the cold weather?

Seems too long a gap between eating the egg and the blotches. Someone wiser will come along but I’d think not.

I would of thought if allergic a reaction would of happened sooner. Just see how he goes and try again in a few days.

I also think its too long a gap. For a face rash with egg its normally been within half an hour. If a reaction was that delayed I would be seeing stomach reactions rather than skin.

Without seeing it, The blotches could be slightly chapped skin from saliver and cold weather/ dry heating.

Thanks all, it sounds like it is probably just chapped skin from the cold weather and the redness has started to go down
