Forgot odd socks? Would I seem weird to leave them in school

DS is in reception, it's odd socks day for anti bullying week. I totally forgot till I got him in, would I seem weird to call back up with odd socks for him to wear? I'd have to leave them in reception and they would need to bring them round or would I better just leaving it

I forgot too. Dd is 8 and has gone in normal black socks. 🙈 I’m not going in with back up socks though

Another one here whose kid is wearing regular black socks! 🙋🏻‍♀️ he only owns black socks anyway and he wasn't bothered about odd ones, he's a bit older than your DS.

There's bound to be loads who forgot or just haven't done it. Was your DS upset about it? Or could he be upset now having realised he's different? If so, I'd maybe take him the odd socks.

Edited to add…you wouldn’t be weird at all!

My husband dropped him off and then mentioned it when he came back home so not sure if DS realised at dropoff but I'm sure he will later today. I've sent DH up with some odd socks to leave in, better to have them for him I think, we only leave a few minutes drive from the school

I wouldn't bother. I doubt they'll be comparing socks in assembly or anything.

At 4 anything new or different is a big deal to most, glad we dropped them off!

We forgot and I dropped some off for them. They take photos in class etc. it wasn't an inconvenience and the kids will be happy.

I've often dropped stuff they've forgotten when I can. But don't you think it's interesting that the odd sock thing is meant to represent people being different and not bullying them... but you dropped them off so he wouldn't be different? I might be having a funny chat about that when he gets back from school just to drive the point home.

Yes I was thinking about that! It probably would have been fine either way but I know he'll see it as something fun and different to do in school today

Mine was upset she wasn’t allowed to be in the class photo because she was the only one without odd socks. Which I thought was quite unfair of the teacher on the anti bullying day. I have said sorry to her for forgetting and she’ll get over it but I do feel bad!
