Dummies and nipple confusion?

Has anyone used dummys pre 4w and experienced subsequent issues with latch?

2nd kid, didn't use dummy with first.
2nd is 12 days old and started to use nipple for comfort.

To save falling asleep n the night i started a dummy which gave me a few fractured hours of sleep over the first half of the night.

Next feed then he seemed to forget how?! He was crying for food, rooting around but just wouldnt latch.

Googled a bit, read about not introducing dummy til 4w.

It could be coincidence, just having a fussy night...surely a few hours of dummy use hasnt caused so much drama. But interested to know if anyone else experienced anything like this?

12 days old probably just trying to boost your supply, which is why there is confusion. I didn't use a dummy and it seems like she was using me for comfort but it wasn't that. If you feel they have stopped drinking milk just unlatch them off your breast, you'll know best. If you want to carry on breastfeeding id stop with the dummy personally. Your choice however your baby and you got to do what's right for you. Congratulations xxx
