Weekends - what do you do - how much is too much, how little is too little?

My daughters (3 and 5) can’t be together for more than 2 minutes without squabbling, or physically fighting (snatching, pulling, pushing) or going nuts at each other.
They are incapable of being in the house together calmly (fine on their own, or in separate rooms).
What do you do with your kids this age at the weekend? How much time do you spend in the house?
Do you separate your kids when possible?
We go out as much as possible because they are so much outdoors, we don’t have much of a garden..

We're generally out of the house from 7.30am-3pm at weekends, sometimes later if we have a scheduled activity in the afternoons (we have booked activities in the mornings so we have to leave the house early). We have 2 dds who mostly get on, it's more that we like to get out and do/see things at weekends. We try to keep the dc together as much as we can though, because the eldest is in school in the week (youngest isn't at school yet) so they don't get to see each other that much during the week. But often DH has one child and I have the other, because they are at different age/skill levels, but they will be in the same place (eg soft play, pool etc).
