Should I be worried that my 9 month old isn't crawling or pulling himself up yet??
He can walk in baby walker amazing and is really good at holding his weight standing with support but I can't help but worry when there's babies younger than him
Doing these things.

Nothing to be worried about, some babies don't crawl, bum shuffle, they just walk.

My youngest didn’t crawl til 12 months but walked around 14 months and was using her sister’s scooter/ heelys by 20 months!
they’re all different but well within normal

Totally normal, mine was slow to.move but developed speech much faster than other babies. They just do it at different times.

My eldest didn’t crawl, he went straight to walking at around 11 months and I never had a walker for him. My second loved the walker and did crawl at 8 months old, but didn’t walk till around 18 months old.

I’ve had two DC - one crawled at 5 months and walked at 10 months, the other didn’t crawl until 11 months but walked at 14 months! I don’t think GP/HV are remotely concerned unless it’s past 12 months and even then it’s just a watch and wait as, like PP says, some kids just don’t crawl!

The Bluey episode ‘Baby Race’ may help with your worries btw 😀

Mine started commando crawling at 9 months, went up on all fours and started to cruise at 15 months and walked at 22 months! Now 7 and fantastic at sport.

I remember so well worrying about this constantly but there is a wide span for ‘normal’ and what you’re describing is perfectly normal.

Ds2 never crawled, just went straight to walling at 10 months. Ds1 rolled everywhere most of the time until he started walking at 13 months. Don't worry, they're all different.

Borgonzola · 09/11/2023 07:51

Mine crawled just before 10 months. Pulled up at 11. Her cousin is 13 months and still isn't crawling. Other cousin never crawled and skipped to walking at 14 months. Got a friend in my NCT who is 15 months and only just crawling.

It's very much up to the individual!

annlee3817 · 09/11/2023 08:06

They're all so different, DD1 was commando crawling at 6.5 months, first steps at 10.5 months, walking before 12 months.

DD2 didn't crawl until she was 10 months, and took her first steps last weekend at 14.5 months.

If it helps further I didn't crawl until after 12 months.

Seems early to be concerned. Mine is not doing those things at 16 months (just bum shuffled at 13 months) and the health visitor said they are not concerned until 18 months. Of course I am a bit concerned but hope she will get there in her own time.

Topseyt123 · 09/11/2023 08:45

Two of my three never crawled at all. They began bum shuffling soon after that age. Those were my DD2 and DD3.

DD2 then walked at 23 months and DD3 at 21 months.

A child not crawling at 9 months is nothing to be concerned about. As you can see, plenty of children never crawl at all even though for some reason everyone seems to talk as if they absolutely all do. They don't.
