5 month old crying has changed.

Hi,

Just looking to see if anyone has a similar experience or advice. My nearly 5 month old DD is a really happy baby, she feeds well, sleeps well and has started to sleep throughout the night. I think she is starting to teeth as her cheeks are very red and she’s wanting to chew on anything she can get her hands on. Have been giving her occasional calpol for this.

However, in the last week it’s almost as if she has escalated the way in which she cries. It’s not normal crying for hunger etc but she is fully screeching at the top of her lungs, going super red in the face and is so loud and she sounds so angry you’d think she’d do herself an injury from it. I think she may have some separation anxiety also, typically cries if I leave the room, won’t go to sleep unless I’m with her and will sometimes cry when she meets someone new for the first time.

Has anyone else experienced their babies crying changed or got quite extreme around this age? I did wonder at one point if she had colic but I don’t think she’s in pain as once she’s been fed or picked up etc she is fine and the crying stops. Just looking for some reassurance or similar experiences.

Thank you ☺️
