DS started nursery last week. He's nearly two. He does two mornings a week, and it's the first time he's ever been away from me and his Dad at the same time, really. He's been looked after by friends a handful of times in his life.
He didn't mind the settling-in sessions but was emotional when we left him on the first morning. Nursery said he did okay, but he didn't eat much. He's been twice since then and has eaten much either time. He has slept there once.
But he's stuck to me since. After the first time, he was literally clinging to me and cried whenever he went away. He was better after the second time and almost normal last time, but he won't go to playgroups or classes with his Dad anymore, he just tries to leave. He kept asking for Daddy last night when Daddy went out.
I'm not sure how to make it better for him. I work remotely but do have to work. His Dad is finding it very offensive as they used to spend a lot of time together.
He's just legged it out of another class because I'm not there, and is refusing to come off FaceTime with me while they drive home 🥹
