Hungry baby - 1 week

Oh guysss
My week old has been on mainly formula last 3 days due to him sucking my nipples off night 1.
Theyve rested and recovered.

We started this feed 10.30pm. Its 2.30pm time of writing. Literally popped off the boob, satisfied for 20 secs then roots for more. So we change over.

Left right left right...I mean think we are on 10th round.

Im using shields coz its relentless.

Anyone else have this? My first used to have a littley break inbetween at least. This is what he.did at 12hours old old too and made me need to use formula to fill him up as my nips were sucked RAW.

Ahh no. My bf is going fine @SiouxsieSiouxStiletto my baby is 4.5 weeks now- At the point where i have to wake her after 7/8 hours for a feed or I feel like I'll explode. Always a slog the first 2-3 weeks though and often have 2-3 nights the first week and week 3 where baby feeds all night non-stop. but I always expected it to be. Once I'm waking them for a feed after 7/8 hours, I know we're on the final stretch to 12 hour sleeps (hopefully by 6/7 weeks old). 3rd baby and bf journey has been almost identical despite 2 x 50th centile and 1 x 99.9 centile babies. Baby slept 7.30pm-2.15 when I woke her for a feed tonight. She did one (huge) side, so now I'm lying here uncomfortable while she's asleep, trying to decide if I need to express a little the the other side do I can sleep or if that'll just exacerbate the issue for tomorrow... just trying to ride it out and planning to wake her to feed more in about an hour. Always have a few days like this.

Hes combi fed now. There was no placating him. Every day was 8 hours non stop, getting more and more frustrated til he wouldnt latch anymore!

Got advice and topping up with formula each evening has helped. His weight has rocketed!

@TreaclePlum that's fabulous. So pleased it's getting easier! :-)

Id say I'm stuck in a cycle with formula.

Would love to EBF but having the time to sit and express to get supply up to what he needs is something else with a toddler, husband in work and a baby thats already on my boobs all afternoon!

I keep him cluster feeding all afternoon. About 2pm to 6pm (although wont be able to do this from tuesday). Then top him up with some formula. He has SO much formula though its bonkers! Usually about 100 to 120mls on top of all that boob.

Cant keep up at all!
