Tantrums/Attitude

I have 2 daughters, 6 and 18 months. Recently my eldest's behaviour has taken somewhat of a downturn. She doesn't listen (as in actively ignore us when we're talking to her), talks to us very rudely/will shout at us, has huge tantrums and for a lot of the time is just generally horrible to be around. This is so unusual for her. She has never been like this, she has had more tantrums in the past couple of months than in all of her toddler years. I'm at a loss. We've tried talking to her once she calms down and she seems to understand when we say it's not acceptable etc but then will do it all over again the next day. She says she doesn't really know why she does it but that she gets frustrated and can't stop herself when she doesn't agree with what we're saying.
Is this 'normal' development? Or is something else going on.
I thought it could be related to me having had another baby as I took her out on her own at the weekend and she was absolutely perfect, even when I said she couldn't have something, but I don't know why she'd be like that after all this time. I'm feeling pretty guilty that it's to do with her feeling like she needs more from me.
