Hmm, is the mountain buggy duet really narrow ?

I've ordered one as I have dd 13 months and another due in feb. I chose this over an out and about nipper due to hating the way the carrycot looked like it was just plonked on ! Plus I don't drive so sometimes we may rely on public transport like trains etc

Read some old threads and seems people think the seats are too narrow.
I paid over £800 for the duet, carrycot plus and two covers!! Please tell me it's not that narrow and they'll be fine in it !

I had it with a 22 month gap and used it for about a year so DC1 was nearly 3 in it and perfectly comfortable. I didn't think the seats were narrow at all but overall it is so it fits on all buses etc. It's like magic!

Holds its value too. We bought ours secondhand for £200 and sold it thirdhand for £150.

@DappledThings oh thank you so much for replying ! I saw these comments and thought oh god but I was really happy with it before that !
I've also seen a couple of people mention that the recline is quite far back even when in full upright position, did you find this ?

That sounds vaguely familiar. My DC are 5 and 7 now so it's been a while since we sold it but yes, now you mention it I do remember the seats didn't seem to sit fully upright. It wasn't much of an issue though.

It's a great buggy. We did zero research, just got that one because some friends were selling theirs but it was really good for us and I've recommended it loads.

I have a cheap stroller atm that is like this, just feels like it could go further ! Maybe dh could modify the duet for me somehow to make it more upright 😆 because it seems like the perfect double buggy !

I love our duet. Not used very much as my eldest is 3 but he gets excited to go in it and while it looks quite narrow he’s never complained about it. The seat goes more upright than our Yoyo (which is annoyingly slouchy)

It drives so well! So easy to push even one handed. I do wish the basket were larger but we use some buggy clips to clip a backpack behind the seat.

Oh I thought the basket was quite large on the duet? That's disappointing

My god I LOVED my duet, hands down best pram I ever had - wish I’d bought one to start off with and used it with the side basket as then I could have pushed it forever 😭😭. It fitted 91st centile DD up to 3.5 absolutely no bother. The carrycots are tiny but I actually liked that, I had a single bugaboo and the carrycot was ENORMOUS, totally impractical and not at all cosy. I miss it still even though DDs are 7 and 4 now 😅.

The basket is adequate. It’s probably larger than most doubles but ours (second hand so an old model) has a strap across the middle which makes it quite awkward, and the fabric has ripped from being forced to hold too much. My single Uppababy has way more space underneath. Yes, I do have 3 buggies plus a bike trailer/running buggy for two children 😂 Overall as a double I do love it and would totally recommend.
