Baby self-weaned from thumb sucking!

My 9 MO started thumb sucking around 4 months old. They used to do it when bored, tired or upset, and to get themselves to sleep. I’ve only just noticed, but for the past month or two, they’ve stopped sucking their thumb entirely. Some parents would probably love this, but it’s interfering with sleep as they don’t seem to be able to settle themselves between sleep cycles anymore. Did anyone else have this?!

I'm sure 8-10 months is a tricky time for sleep anyway so it might have just be a coincidence.

Yes it seems to have coincided with a sleep regression!

Would he take a dummy?

@Devilsmommy I haven’t tried before, but wondered if 9 months is a bit late to start?

Well they sell dummy's for 18-36mo so I don't see why it can't be started at 9mo. Ive got an awful sleeper who would definitely not sleep without his dummy so I'm all for them😆 he may end up going back to the thumb eventually anyway but it could be useful for now at least
