im not sure where to start. I’ve already filed custody papers, meeting with GAL next week.
i have sole legal custody and 50/50 placement. Two girls age 5 and 8.
over the last year there have been many issues. The girls come home dirty, dirt under nails and all over feet. Injuries on their feet with dirt healing into them.
they come home sick, fevers and coughs. Their dad never takes them to the doctor. I’ve had to take them in for rsv, strep, Lymes, pneumonia. Once our 5 (4 at the time) year old was dropped off with a tick in her shoulder. Her dad told her to wait until she’s at moms but never mentioned it to me. I removed it and monitored for any rash or symptoms but she had none, I told dad to take her in if she had symptoms or a rash. Well. She was dropped off with me with a large bullseye rash and fever. I took her in, she was given antibiotics (14 days) for Lymes. I sent antibiotics with to dads. I’m when he returned then he had barely given any antibiotics (both girls said he missed almost every morning) and the rash was back (almost completely gone when I sent them with dad) and there were ANTS in the meds. Now they were dropped off with nasty sounding coughs and tell me they were coughing until vomiting t at dads. Took them in, they have sinus infections and pneumonia requiring antibiotics and steroids. Dad claims they had no symptoms, like he always does.
over the last year here are some other things:
•4 year old locked in her room overnight with a potty seat and nothing to wipe with so she used her own clothing (resulting in bloody rashes)
•Ant bites and ants on clothing
•Unfinisbed homework almost every week
•Fingerprint and fingernail shaped bruising (dad claimed she fell in the hallway, later claimed she fell in the living room and step mom caught her)
•Steo mom calling the girls dumb, stupid, idiots, not smart enough, etc
•step mom sleeping through school pick up
•dirt covered wounds
•5 year old being cussed at (go in your f-ing room, get in the f-ing car)
•dad and step mom took 4 year old to doctor ONCE because steo mom had strep and 4 year old had a sore throat, they left the 8 year old alone at night for this. She woke up terrified and couldn’t find anyone. She’s still terrified I’ll leave her alone, despite my best efforts to prove I won’t do that
•dozens of empty beer bottles laying outside
•kids begging not ti go back ti dads
now. Here’s my concern. I make adult content, and use legal delta 8 from the store. He had said he will use these things against me. I don’t do either of those when the children are home! I won’t even have a glass of wine when I’m caring for them, or they’re in bed. I’m a very gentle and involved mom. I don’t yell, spank, or anything like that. The worst thing I do is take a toy or stuffy away if they are being naughty with it.
can I win this? I see the GAL soon and I’m so nervous. My ex is very manipulative and narcissistic. I called cps months ago and they gave him a 7 day notice before going ti his home and closing the case with “not enough evidence” and now my ex acts like nothing can touch him.
