Newborn poop

My newborn (breastfed boy) seems to always have nappies wet at the back but not the front. Has anyone else experienced this?

When changing his nappy today he went on the changing mat. Very watery stool followed by some clear liquid coming out of the backside.
Anyone know if this is normal? I’ve attached a photo of his nappy.

Is he BF?

Yes he’s breastfed

I'd say it looks pretty normal then. Certainly looked a lot like my DC's from what I remember Wink

Hi Molly, that looks very normal for a BF baby. I’m a midwife 🙂

I'm also a midwife and yes, that's normal.

100% normal. Breastmilk is so well-digested that this is all that's left!

Once he starts on solids in a few weeks, you'll start to realise how lovely it was to have unscented poop back in his younger months 😂
