Baby no2

Looking for advice really.

Started trying for baby no2 last month. My pregnancy with my first was very anxiety inducing and took me 3 months to bond with them and only just completely therapy recently and for once feel “normal”.

The possibility of pregnancy alone has bought some anxiety and wondering whether to really have a second in case I experience the same anxiety as last time. I never want to experience that anxiety again but don’t want to regret not having baby no2.

I suppose nobody can really give you advice without knowing what are your reasons for wanting baby number 2?

I don't think you can ever be sure you won't experience that anxiety again with another pregnancy so the only way to avoid it is to not have another pregnancy.

How old is your DC1? I think the smaller gap you have the harder it will be and so the more likely you are to feel anxious again?

I personally found pregnancy less anxious the second time around because I had a basis of comparison which I obviously didn’t have the first time.
I did find the post natal period much harder second time around though and was much slower to bond compared to DC1 so swings and roundabouts!

I don’t think you’ll ever be able to guarantee that you won’t feel the same way again so I suppose it depends on how much you want a second DC and if you’re prepared to risk it
