3/4 month fussy feeds

Hi all! I've posted on here a little while ago about a similar thing so thought I'd post again..

My baby is 4 months old (in 2 days) and has been fussy with his bottles for the last 3 weeks. He was getting easily distracted and not finishing all this bottles like he previously was. He was also really unsettled between bottles too. Doctor said it could be silent reflux and so prescribed omeprazole which he's been on for 10 days. Last few days he was been even fussier than before only taking about 2-3oz from each bottle before shaking his head, biting the teat arching his back and pushing the bottle out of his mouth. I've tried different positions, tried upping the teat size and he's still the same. Sometimes the face he pulls when taking the milk is the same face he makes when having the omeprazole (obviously doesn't like the taste of it) so wondering whether to change formula again? I did change from hipp organic to aptamil on Sunday..

Anyone been or going through a similar thing?

Hi. I think I commented on your other post! My LO is 4 months tomorrow and he’s been the same. It’s driving me around the bend.

Could it be teething thrown into the mix the last few weeks? Mine just wants to chew the teat and has been really off his food.

Hey.. It's driving me round the bend too! Every feed seems to be a battle at the minute it's really stressful. He used to finish 7 ounces like nothing before. I've ditched the prep machine as remember you saying it gave extra bubbles. He could be teething as dribbling loads too.

Is your little one finishing bottles? Hopefully it's a phase 😵‍💫

It’s so frustrating. If I get 4oz in him im doing well….but I have to practically starve him before he takes it. My LOs nappies have never been normal and he’s just not been quite right on formulas. We’ve tried all sorts from reflux, regular, comfort to lactose free and there is still some issues, albeit much better than it was. We’ve been under HV and she has said by 4 months any digestive issues should have resolved and his weight gain is slowing so we have an appointment tomorrow to be prescribed dairy free formula to try.

He was finishing bottles though before and has started to again since we’ve been using teething powder and massaging his gums. Hes just dribbling non stop!

I hope you find a difference with the dairy free formula.

I'm wondering whether to try a comfort one.. so hard to know what to do isn't it!
