First birthday pictures

My little one is turning one soon and I really wanted to get pictures done for memories and I just think cake smash photo shoots look really cute but now I'm thinking of just not bothering.. I've been told im weird for always wanting pictures taken of my little one and made to feel like it's not normal... thoughts? Am I just being over board and obsessed with my child ?

Nothing weird about wanting photos of celebrating your child's first birthday!

Cake smashing-pictures are not a thing where I come from, but if you like them, let your child smash some cake! Or just take pictures of your child opening the presents, etc.

Whether you are getting professional pictures or not, is up to you and your wallet. I think many (most) people take the photos themselves.

People take loads of photos of kids these days.

I had to look up cake smash - they are a bit cheesy IMO, but it would be a boring world if we were all the same.
