Cotton bud for cleaning baby's ears

Is it ok to use cotton buds to clean my baby's outer ears after her bath time? I don't go anywhere near her ear canal.

Sorry I sound like a noob. I don't know much about parenting. I am constantly worried about doing things the "wrong way". 🥺

You don't need to. Just towel dry.

I'd leave them, or just use the corner of the towel, but yes if you're not near the ear opening itself (only thing you should put into the ear is an elbow, ancient joke).

Cotton buds can push ear wax further down and compact it.
Don't do it .

My worry about using one to wipe even the outside is that babies aren't known for holding still and could well end up where it shouldn't be. Corner of a towel works just fine! :)
