My 16 month old picky eater has a limited range of accepted foods and I’m really struggling for dinner ideas. Breakfast is normally his best meal and lunch is often ok as he’ll eat sandwiches/picky bits but the only main meals he’ll eat is jacket potato with beans (potato mixed in with beans) and courgette & leek risotto.
He won’t eat any other type of rice, any other type of potato and no pasta. He’ll sometimes eat sweet potato but only occasionally. He also won’t knowingly eat any vegetables or meat. The only way I get veg in him is with vegetable muffins, fritters and hiding in cakes and the only meat he’ll eat is blended in a fritter. The kid doesn’t even like yoghurt. What kid doesn’t like pasta and yoghurt?!
He basically lives on porridge with peanut butter, cereal, bread, fruit, eggy bread, fritters, baked beans, risotto, vegetable muffins and cakes (homemade sugar free). On repeat.
Any ideas? Even if it’s other recipes that hide things in but can still make sure he’s used to accepting variety?
Also, any solidarity from other parents of picky eaters welcome!
