How to handle DS in guesthouse

I am thinking of taking my two boys away for a couple of days in August. It will be a guesthouse affair at the sea side (south shields) and it will just be me and the two kids.

Thing is DS2 has suspected ADHD and can be a handful (under statement!) and i'm worried about how he'll behave at the guesthouse. His behaviour is much worse if he has an audience and I really can't face the thought of him showing me up in front of the owners/other guests.

Does anyone have any coping stratagies for these kinds of situations? (threats (taking stuff away) don't work with him).

Unfortunately, if it is a struggle to get him to behave when you are on your own turf, I suspect it will only be harder in a new situation, and with an audience.

Is there any possibility of doing something like self-catering instead? Then you can impose your own rules more easily, and deal with any problems without the audience.
