So I have tried potty training my 3 year old he basically tell everytime he needs a number 2 haven’t had any accidents with it. However it’s the no1 he’s struggling with and doesn’t tell me before he needs to go. Any tips?

Are you able to do a few days at home with no trousers? Basically you watch like a hawk, and grab them when they start to do a "wee wee dance". After a day or two (which will include wee on the floor.....) then you, and hopefully they, know what it looks/feels like when they need a wee.

No pants, 3 days at home, lots of water as that means lots of practising! And prompting every 10mins or so, at the start you don't leave it up to them to tell you as qhen they actually need to go they only have about 2 seconds before it happens at the start

The no pants thing didn’t work for us
also pants themselves didn’t work
boxer shorts and a few accidents was what worked :) he was 3 in June and we did it the last week of the summer holidays after a few failed attempts before

Don’t ask if he needs a wee. Just say “let’s go do a week on the potty/toilet”
if you ask he will most likely say no.

I am struggling with potty training 3 year old. I’ve had 2 failed attempts. The first was when he was 2 and in hindsight he wasn’t ready. The second attempt was 2 months ago and I tried the pants off method for 3 days at home and then he went to nursery. The nursery told me he probably wasn’t ready after a further 3 days of accidents. He’s probably had about 3 wees on the potty in the 6 days of trying. I have been very positive, offering rewards etc but this time he is getting upset on the potty and doesn’t even want to try. I’m so worried that he won’t be trained in time for school 😢 any advice please? Xx
