Sitting upright 6 month old

My little one isn’t sitting up without support. He can sit in his chair, he’s great at tummy time and is attempting to crawl, yet I can’t get him to sit unsupported. When I put him seated on the floor he can’t stay up by himself. Otherwise in great health - he’s 7 months tomorrow. I keep being told not to compare him to others in our antenatal group but he is the only one left who isn’t sat up by themselves - any tips?

Normal. Meant to be sitting unsupported by 9 months.

You really shouldn't compare.

I think of you want to do more practice sitting up giving him some sutand also putting interesting objects slightly out of reach

Stop comparing him., i know it's hard sometimes, but my son sat unsupported at seven months, crawled at nine months and walked at sixteen months my daughter was walking around the furniture at eight months and walked at eleven months. They're both adults now and can walk and talk like everyone else.
