Baby monitors - security camera?

Hi all!

I'm on the market for a baby monitor and I had a thought that they are essentially security cameras marketed for babies and hence much more expensive!

Has anybody used a simple security camera which rotates etc and can be linked to a phone/tablet?

I know the issue is that security cameras pan much wider but surely there are some that can be adjusted?

Although in my experience of baby monitors I don't agree that the lullabies are an important, or even vaguely useful feature!

Yep we have a nooie 360 which is basically a camera for your house

Thanks for sharing, I have seen this!
None of this is enough to put me off - I have other means for temp monitoring etc..

We use TAPO camera. Does the same job as baby monitor, good quality camera and sounds, can talk through it. No lullabies or temp but can get grow egg thermometer for the temp and teddy bears for lullabies if you really need it.

Yes and I'd recommend it, so cheap, does the job. I combined it with a cheap sound -only monitor in the early months

Thank you!! This has helped me decide and will deffo go with the more economical option! Don't see the need for all the bells and whistles and extra cash waste!

I'd be very careful about using one via your phone, it's so open to hacking. I'd only use a sound one for this reason.

We use a wansview cloud, 20 quid, links to phone through WiFi
