Anti reflux milk

My baby has bad reflux- is very sicky and soaks through outfits (and me) throughout the day.
I was going to try cow and gate anti reflux formula. Do you know if you can combine this with the normal cow and gate formula? I was thinking trying half and half so he doesn't get constipated....

I don’t think that’s a good idea. I’d say switch to the anti reflux formula and then just keep an eye on things. If he gets constipated you can try warm bath, tummy massage, cooled boiled water, bicycle legs and these things on Amazon called windi which is a little tube that lets them pass trapped wind (although only use as a last resort and not all the time). If that still doesn’t work then call GP as they can prescribe Movicol which really gets things going. I know as I’ve just been through this exact thing with my 4 month old.

All the best 🫶🏻

If your baby is comfortable on the milk they are on (minus the reflux) you could try adding Cow and Gate carobel? That’s what I do. I just order it on Amazon now.

My LO was on aptamil anti reflux but after few weeks found out he’s not great on lactose so he’s now on lactose free milk. He was fine for about 6 weeks but his reflux kicked back in (apparently it peaks at 4 months….handy!).

I only add half the amount recommended and that seems to do the trick but you can add a little more or little less and get the thickness balance right for you. Might be worth a try.

Honestly I'd just use the comfort milk. They're not likely to get constipated. If they do it's probably more likely that they have CMPA.

Ah thank you all
I just tried the first bottle and to my amazement he hasn't been sick yet!! Normally he's soaked after!
So hopefully it works for us!

I am just starting to use the cow and gate anti reflux milk. Seems good so far. Very thick though so need to go get bigger teats.

Just to also mention although this is an old thread someone might find this useful that all carobel powder is is carob bean gum which is the Exact same thing in the anti reflux formula hence it's hard to come buy these days so weather you use the carobel powder or Anti reflux milk you at giving the baby the same thing. Just it's ready made in the formula instead of mucking about working out how much carobel powder to put in a feed and works out more expensive that a tub of ready made formula with it in it.

Hope this helps someone looking for information on how thw anti reflux milk worked. 😀
