ADVICE NEDDED QUICKLY

My ex was supposed to have DS1 this weekend, he was supposed to pick him up this morning, he has just rung to say that he just woke up and wants to come tommorrow instead.
Now I have to explain to DS why he is not going, do i let him go tommorrow or keep him at home ??

What would your ds want? I think that's always the guide. Infuriating ex though - how irresponsible.

Why can't he come now? Ok so he will be late, but why should your son miss out on an overnight stay just because his dad woke up late?

Let him have him tomorrow, unless he's near enough to come right now - a pain, but not ds1's fault. I'd make sure he knows (quietly later on) that you're not happy for that to happen again or become regular.

ds is really disappointed but wants to go tom. the irony is ex is taking me to court for parental responsibilty !!!!!!!!

he lives 70 miles away and doesn't have a car !

Actually - have mis-read - if ds was to stay the night, then if he still wants to, he should be able to. Your ex needs to come now and face his responsibilities even though he's going to be late.

would have come bt train a four hour round trip, has not paid maintenence for over a year as he is saving for a car !!

i know it makes me so angry and i am left to pick up the pieces, dh has taken DS 1 & 2 out, proof there are some good men out there hey !!
