11 month seems much clingier than other babies

My DC is 11 months - always been ebf and carried on feeding on demand when she was weaned food. She eats well. Recently we’ve cut bfs down to morning and night.

She’s always been high needs - contact naps galore - finally got her in her cot at 8 months for naps (game changer).

Anyway I’ve started to notice at baby groups that she’s much clingier than other babies her age. She loves to sit right by me or on me to play at all times. If I get up to put my shoes on for example she looks sad and watches where I go. If someone else cuddles her she won’t complain but will look for me. If she had her way she’d like to be carried round in her baby sling attached to me all snug ALL day. Genuinely I think that would be her dream day.

Typing out the above doesn’t sound that ott, but i see other babies walking or crawling all over the place at baby class not even looking back at their mum or appearing to be fussed about where mum is.

Am I doing something wrong?

I’ve always tried my very best to meet her needs and respond to her cries as soon as I can. I’ve always been pretty quick! Although there were some times when she was a newborn and she would be crying in her bassinet on a walk but I couldn’t pick her up immediately as I couldnt manage her and the pram and I didn’t have a baby sling when she was small as I was recovering from c section.

she will be happy if she is off spending the day with her dad for example, but when she sees me again she just wants me.

It's probably all very normal but I think I would ask the HV to also do the Social & Emotional Ages & Stages at her 12 month check Wink
