Winding

My 4 week old is impossible to wind, the majority of the time he will not burps at all. He is very squirmy and fussy 24/7 so he is constantly in my arms, I am exhausted! We have tried colief and infacol, nothing. We switched him to comfort milk 5 days ago and I think he actually might be worse 😭

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Hi, have you tried the 'wonkey winding' technique and or gripe water? We've had struggles with our 5 week old especially in the night when he falls asleep on the bottle. Hope you find something that helps soon!! X

Hi OP.

I had the same problem. My LO was really fussy, and she would not burp. AT ALL. colief and winding techniques did not work. She has silent reflux, so her doctor suggested keeping her upright for 30 mins after each feed, so that helped a bit.
As she reached 8 weeks and could hold her neck a bit, she would burp. Now that she is 15 weeks old, she burps the moment we pick her up! So I guess it has to do with their neck being straight.

I'm sure you have done so, but try lots of different positions. High on your shoulder, not just face on chest height, sitting on your lap with head supported or lying on your forearm or across your lap may work. You may need to be 'gently vigorous'.

@Laurap93 I have only just seen the replies. I dont want to jinx myself but OMG I just looked up the wonking winding position and done it after his last bottle and he burped for the first time in days, even when he does burp its tiny but with this he done a big old man burp 😅. Thank you so much, hopefully it continues.
