Sick leave versus annual leave for sick toddler if I’m sick too?

Last time toddler was off nursery I just took annual leave. This time I have the nursery plague too and am feeling totally rubbish (the bug compounded by no sleep over the last few nights)? Do I take sick leave this time? In the absence of sick toddler I’d probably struggle with the commute but could manage working at home with lower than usual productivity if I dosed up on day nurse. So sick but not stuck in bed for the day level of sick which was my previous threshold for taking sick leave

It sounds like you need sick leave for you!

I'd take sick for you and get DP to take AL to help with DC

If you are sick enough to miss work, then take it off

Tbh I'd weigh up how much sick leave v annual leave I'd already taken and choose the lower!

Toddler / nursery years are tough but they don't last forever! Hope you all feel better soon

Sick leave for you

DH takes either annual leave or that special leave they have for childcare

Sick leave because you are sick.

Thanks all, I will take sick leave this time. At least DD wanted to spend most of the day sleeping on me on I could spend a lot of the day on the sofa.

I do plan to share the baby sick days with DH but he has much less leave than me at the moment due to us having different annual leave calendars and him using quite a bit while I was on maternity leave.
