8.5 month old not sitting

DS is 8.5 months, can only sit unsupported for a minute or so, he can do longest in his baby classes with a lot of distraction to look at. He quickly throws himself into rolling around

should i worry about this? Iv noticed most babies his age have been sitting unaided for a while

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I'm not sure that sitting up unaided is a milestone just yet. It might be worth filling in the 8 month Ages & Stages and seeing how they score.

You can always ask your HV to score it and see what she thinks Wink

Sounds like he doesn't want to sit still either which is a factor?

My daughter was crawling before she could sit unaided. She didn't sit up unaided til 9 months. This didn't feel unusual compared to other babies I knew, and she started walking at a very average 13months. Hope that helps!
