Hi

I am really trying not to get in to my own head but I am struggling.

My baby is crawling, pulling herself up, sitting up unassisted. Motor development is great!

However her social development isn't great. She isn't babbling yet, she very occasionally responds to her name if I say it out of sight, never when i am in the same room. She struggles to give/maintain eye contact. She also does not care at all if I leave the room or leave for a while day. She also hand and foot twirls.

I am concerned hv said to have her development check sooner rather than later. Anyone else have this? The eye contact bothers me the most.

First time mum.

They all do things their own way. My 10 month old babbles, responds to name, does some signing etc but resolutely refuses to roll, doesn't crawl, can only pull up to knees and rotate on the spot. Just sits there waiting to be entertained and cries if I have the audacity to attempt tummy time. I have the advantage that he is my second and first was even more behind. Didn't even weight bear at this age. I was definitely worried about her but she bum shuffled at 11 months and walked at 18 and is now fine. Just a character who likes to be certain she can do things before she attempts them.

Thank you for the reply. I guess I just need to get that in to my head, babies develop differently. Just an anxious first time mum, I think I would be better if her eye contact was good.
