Nuby Rapid Cool lid sterilisation

Anyone using the nuby Rapid cool able to tell me how to sterilise the digital lid? It says cold water sterilisation is fine but also says 'Do not submerge the digital lid for extended periods of time'.

However it neglects to state exactly how long is too long!

Any advice?

I’ve been putting mine in the cold water steriliser for well over 8 months now with no time limit, including overnight and no issues this far!
