DD2 Birthday Ideas

DD is 2 next week.

What do people do for toddlers birthdays?

I'm trying not to go OTT as I know she has no idea, but also have mum guilt for not getting a "big" present!

What did you get your DD at 2?

No clue!
I remember the first birthday present and a trip to an aquarium but I can’t even remember 2nd, and neither can they!

You DD will be thrilled with whatever they open and their cake with candles. It will be exciting for them no matter what they get. Enjoy the day op and don’t feel guilty, there’s no need.

For DD’s second birthday, we went to an aquarium. She also got a few small things like a clock puzzle, a soft toy, dress up bears puzzle and a new outfit. She had a blast and that’s all that matters :)

Hi @notaephron
We just celebrated my nephews 2nd birthday. We hired out an area in this lovely indoor soft play place and it also had lots of farm animals outside. There were 5 other parties going on, the place is huge. We had pizza, cut a cake, he got loads of presents and we gave out party bags at the end. It was a really nice afternoon.

For DD1, we met a couple of friends at the play park and had cupcakes. She did get a balance bike as her 'big present', but we actually gave it to her a month early – the weather was lovely, and it seemed silly to save it for an arbitrary day when she had no clue what a birthday was.

DD2 will get a similar level of 'party'. Not sure if she'll get a 'big present' as she's already got a scooter and DD1's old balance bike! We're planning a few child-friendly bits for the garden, so if we get some of that done in the next few months, we might unveil one of those as her 'big present'.

He had D&V that he then passed to me so we had to cancel the family party we'd planned 😫

Scooter was the big present which was barely touched till he was nearly 3!

I had a party at home and she enjoyed the busyness of it all even though it was mostly adults drinking the pink champagne I bought!
I made meatballs on toothpicks, crudités with hummus and veggie pizzas
She got a scooter as her big present. Everyone else gave her books
It was 2 hours in the afternoon only.
I kept it very simple and I think everyone had a lovely time Including the birthday girl.
