Gigi89x · 16/10/2023 09:32

I have a Tripp Trapp , my DS is 8 months. Im having issues with the harness, no matter what i do the straps wont stay on his shoulders, they also are difficult to adjust.

Is anyone else having this issue?

Thanks

Yeah, the straps are really fiddly and we found them annoying. A bit counter-intuitively, we found they stayed on better if we made them a bit longer than we thought (I think because we could pull them further up the shoulders). We persevered because we had them already, but we actually also had some baby reins that could have been used for the highchair and another time we might just go with those.

I bought the harness and never bothered using it! My very wriggly boy is 18mo now and he's not escaped thus far!

Thanks, its super frustrating especially as its a very expensive highchair

I regret buying it for this reason and also bowls and toys don't stick to the tray

My eight month old climbed onto the tray this evening when we were having dinner. Delighted with himself.
So definitely need the harness now it’s very fiddly but won’t be needed for long.

I think I used them for the first for about 3 months, then didn't bother for my youngest.

Loved the chair - mine used them till they were about 6/5 - we had two.

It may be controversial, but I don't use harnesses or straps in high chairs. I will be sitting beside the whilst they are eating so they are safe and if there is a choking situation, I want to be able to get them out ASAP and not be fiddling around trying to undo straps.
