Hi girls, I have a 3 year old DS who use to absolutely LOVE going to nursery everytime he went he use to skip going there because he was excited to go but the last few times he's been crying saying he doesn't want to go to nursery, he'll cry on the way there. I go in with him and once he's in there he seems to calm down a little bit. Im just wondering why he's suddenly started crying &saying he doesn't want to go. I will have a chat to his nursery teacher tomorrow but I'm just curious if anyone else has had the same experience with their children and might know why he's doing this? Also he's literally only just turnt 3 so I can't get a proper answer out of him yet when I ask him why he doesn't want to go.
Thanks :)

Has anything changed like Keyworker or his room?

Kayx28 · 15/10/2023 15:30

Yes, both. He has a new keyworker and the room is now upstairs whereas it use to be downstairs. Also he made a really good friend there but they are in different classes now as their a year apart in age. I was thinking it might be that he's missing his friend maybe?

It does sound like the change is affecting him yes. Have they also stopped doing naps now he's in a new room?

Mine was afraid when a new nursery manager started as thought she was scary. Took a month to figure out. We then spent time the 3 of us together a couple of times and it sorted it when they go to know them
