My DC has made £90 developing templates/videos on this app and trying to work out whether this is all legit. Does anyone have any experience? Thanks

Good for him! Yeah, it’s a well-known video editing app, loads of my business friends use it.

@PlatinumBrunette thanks for your response, do you know how it works and why they pay him? Google isn’t throwing up a clear explanation. He bought a new watch worth £50 with his earnings and didn’t know where the money had come from til he explained. I was thinkikg and fearing that it was from county lines 😳

I don’t use it, so I’m not sure. I think it’s like Canva though, and he may be editing other people’s videos, making them more professional, for example, or creating templates to sell for social media.

Bless you re county lines, it’s such a worry, these days, isn’t it? It’s a massive thing where I live.
It sounds like your DS has the makings of a smart, right-side-of-the-line entrepreneur.

Ask him to explain how it works?

Choirsinger7 · 15/10/2023 21:31

@octodrive i did before opening this thread but I got a teenage mumbled response which made no sense, hence seeing if anyone else could shed some light on it. Still can’t find much on the cap cut website or Google that explains how it works and why they’d pay him 90 quid…

Try again. If he can't explain it he may be lying about it.

WellIdontknowwhattocallmyself · 15/10/2023 23:38

how old is he because usually to make money from these things you have to be a above a certain age

Ds is 15 and uses it to make edits of pre-existing You Tube videos, which he posts to Tic Toc. No original material, all video edits and mash ups with a shout out at the end to the original YT poster.

He has a Tic Toc creator account...in DHs name because he's too young. He spends about half an hour every day on it and makes about £300 a month. It's taken him a year to build it to that level with likes and follows and such.
