My baby has started stiffening his legs when picked up, and pointing them dead straight. He's like an ironing board, rigid. I've noticed too that there's some resistance when trying to get him to bend at times, in his arms too, but he happily flexes and kicks when on nappy mat or play gym, and grasps things with his hands and brings to mouth etc. He's always had good head control, raising his head at a week old even. Googling has be worried about hypertonia or cerebral palsy, bit I don't want to catasrophise just yet, and will speak to the health visitor next week, just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? It's just when picking him up, goes completely stiff as a board and stays like that as you hold him to you unless you physically unstiffen him, with difficulty!
