Children getting I'll in Spain

Hi just come back from Spain (Majorca) yesterday. My 2yo developed a nasty cough whilst over there, we had to get an urgent Dr out during the night as it seemed he was struggling to breath. He said it was not his chest and was a throat infection and prescribed Azythromycine and Zyrtec to be taken for 5 days. He's been on it 3 days now and still has this nasty sounding cough, and a temp in controlling with calpol.

But I noticed in the airport, a lot of other children had this similar sounding cough.
I think I'll take him to GP Monday (or to OOH over the weekend if I get too concerned)

Just wondering if anyone else has recently come back from holiday and experienced this with their kids at all?
I've done a covid test and it's negative

Was it one of the new tests @MyBrownEyedHandsomeBoy? Apparently the old kits aren't very good for the new variant Flowers

Hi @SiouxsieSiouxStiletto yes it was one of the old tests. However, he's got worse through the day and started smacking his ear and really crying so I called 111 and waiting for a call back now. Possible ear infection now? Poor lad

Sounds like it could be an ear infection. If you do get to see a GP ask them to check his throat too. DS had tonsillitis many times when he was younger and it always seemed to present with varying symptoms.
