Hi all,

Bit of background. My boy is 16+ weeks.

I've been breastfeeding from the start, tried introducing some formula at 4 weeks. Baby has always cried a lot especially between 3-9 weeks it was hell. He got diagnosed with colic which imo is just a term for doctors if they CBA finding out what is really going on. I've been doing so much research in the last few months. I've stopped diary, he's going to the osteo after seeing breastfeeding consultant. I then saw the GP 2 weeks ago and said I think he has reflux and possible cmpi, she wasn't a 100% convinced as he is a big baby, he was on the 25th centile when born and is now on the 90th both height and weight.

She's given me hypoallergenic formula we tried nutramigen but he plain refused like arched back I tried mixing it with my breast milk 15ml nutra and 90ml breast milk he wouldn't have it. Spoke to the GP and I asked for sma athera which he seems to not mind as much but still doesn't enjoy it. He only just finished 80ml and then I had to breastfeed him as he was crying a lot, I am being super gentle btw I don't force feed it just hold it Infront of his mouth but that makes him cry (I would cry too it's vile) I'm trying to be positive and smile and say yum yum :'). Now my question is how did you guys transition from breastfeeding to hypoallergenic formula I'm feeling clueless.. do I offer a bottle every few hours or just once a day until he finishes the 180ml?

For anyone asking why I want to stop bf, I only intended bf for 6 months anyways, it's been hell from the start he always arches of my breast in the afternoon evenings which makes it extremely stressful for both of us as he starts crying his eyes out. He accepts bottles and I can express I am just done bf :)

I could really use some advice on how to slowly introduce I'm in no rush even if it takes 1/2 months. I'm just baffled that he doesn't even finish a bottle when he's really hungry..

Thanks!

I forgot to mention that I did try formula 4 times 3 of those times was kendamil and once sma lactose intolerant milk, last time I tried introducing formula was a kendamil rdy made 2 weeks ago and he projectile vomited after 2 hours of ingesting it, it broke my heart he was so upset and cried so much. He has vomited before but always smiles when it happens so I was really worried this time when he did as he was quite floppy as well that I v called 999
