Calculate how old my baby is?

ChamomileHoneyTea · 11/10/2023 14:03

How do I calculate my baby’s age? He was born on May 24th so is he now 5 months (20 weeks) or will he be 5 months on October 24th? I would like to understand this as I will start to wean him at six months and need to work out the date.

He is 5 months on October 24th.

Not every month has 4 weeks but for the sake of 12 days it really isn't much of an issue

He will be 6 months on 24th November

6 months on 24th November, not all months have 4 weeks.

But you could wean at 24 weeks...

I think with weaning rather than setting a target age as to when you should start weaning it’s best to wait until they’re displaying all the signs of readiness; can sit up unaided, have good hand-mouth control & have lost their gag reflex. This does happen at around 6 months but can be earlier or later. One of mine were around 8/9 months before they were ready to wean and the other was a little of 5 months.

hopefully this takes the pressure off a bit
