Halloween costumes!

Does anyone else buy non scary Halloween costumes?
My eldest has a scary clown costume which is horrible... but my youngest has 0 interest int eh Halloween costumes so I was thinking of getting him a Thomas the tank costume which he'll be more excited about but I'm worried that people might make silly comments to him..... do others do this?

We've always just dressed up as whatever we feel like and ignore that it's meant to be scary. We've been an astronaut, alien and 'the mothership', a scarecrow and farmer, and to be fair last year my son and I were both skeletons but I'd not let anyone pressure you. In the states people go as fairies and footballers and everything in between. Most important thing is to be having fun surely?

theres plenty of spooky costumes that aren’t actually scary. My 3yo has a top with cute ghosts on. There’s loads of skeleton tops and trousers that aren’t scary. Wizards, pumpkins etc are all options.
