Hi my DD has just turned 1 and while i'm currently not working i would still like to have her in nursery one or two days a week. I realise she will have a funded place after age 2 but is there any schemes in place to help with funding before that? i've tried researching but i get super confused bc im neurodivergent i can't read information very well lol. if anyone can help i'd appreciate it X

Generally you can only get UC help with childcare if you’re working but if you have a medical condition your health visitor can sometimes assist in getting some hours respite via nursery. It all depends on your needs

Two year old funding is not universal yet. Look up FEET funding to see if you would qualify.

If you receive the Limited Capability for Work and Work Related Activity element of UC and your partner works enough, you can claim reasonable childcare costs from UC if not working yourself. Otherwise no. As PP said, funding from age two is not guaranteed either as depends on your circumstances
