Mucus in toddler poo

My 19 month old has had mucus in his poo for the last two weeks and very soft poo. He was off nursery for a week with it and we sent a stool sample to the GP but haven't heard anything back. Has anyone experienced this before or have any ideas of what it might be? He had a milk allergy and we reintroduced him to dairy back in August so his allergy consultant doesn't think it's that and other than that, his diet hasn't changed. I weaned him off breastfeeding a few weeks ago but haven't heard that it makes much of a difference to their digestion. Would be grateful for any advice!

Hi. Yes my son had this a few times. Maybe for a few days in a row a couple of times. I think it was mainly when he was run down with illnesses or something. He also has allergies but I don't think it was related. I haven't seen it for ages now. I was worried at the time and google didn't help but as with most things toddler related it was just a phase.

Thank you, yes Google has been useless! Glad to hear it was just a phase and he hasn't had it for ages. My son definitely isn't himself at the moment so maybe it's a symptom of being run down. Hopefully it passes soon!

Hi, I know this is an old post but wondering what the outcome was? My DD is having the same thing and I'm a bit worried!
