Online it's rated as 4/5yrs and up? I remember watching one called sheep of horrors with a horror theme and blood etc too scary for toddlers?

According to the internet Cbeebies is for age 6 and under. CBBC 6-12. So if it’s aimed at 4&5 year olds Cbeebies is the right place for it.

There's some questionable programmes on CBeebies tbf but I don't think Shaun the sheep is one of them.

OP, I know the episode you are talking about. It is made clear to the audience from the very beginning that Timmy is covered in tomato sauce because he ate the farmer's left over pizza. It is only the dog and the adult sheep who think it is blood.
