Christmas/birthday presents for 2 year old!

Cappucinohotchoc · 05/10/2023 14:11

DS is 2 just after Christmas so just asking for ideas for both !

we have so far (to split between both)

  • balance bike
  • puzzles
  • car ramp toy
  • a hey duggee toy (only got 1 as he passively watches it)
  • books
  • wooden fruit cutting toy
  • tonies box and figures

We are thinking about a toy air fryer and kettle as he took interest in this when we seen it in the shop and we don’t really have the space to have a full blown toy kitchen so thought maybe toys for a toy kitchen would still be good :)

any more ideas please?? I feel like my mind is drawing a blank

especially as family keep asking what can they get him

Following this with interest as I have a 2 year old who already has his brother's old toys but will still need something for Christmas.

Things he likes are:

Play shop/play kitchen items
Play tools. Battery operated or not.
Stickle bricks
Magna tiles
Small world type things like little farm/houses
Cars
Balls
Pickler triangle and slide
Playmobil
Play sink with working tap
Little cleaning set like brush and dustpan
Baby/pram
Kids hoover
Playdough
Kinetic sand
Bucket and spade
Sand/water table
Scooters/bikes/ride ons
A little tiny Thomas train that goes by itself

What about the wider family treating him to a day out so you’re not over run with stuff?

If not already owned I'd say mega blocks! Mine is almost 2 and they are one of her favourites! She also loves her Peppa figures play park and house they are so good to get their imagination going!

That sounds more than enough.

  • A scooter
  • Duplo, or more duplo if you already have some
  • You can get tabletop toy kitchens if you don't have space for a freestanding one
  • Art stuff like crayons, paper, stickers, finger paints, paint sticks
  • Wooden trains, tracks, etc.
  • Little toy plastic animals/dinosaurs
  • Farm or similar playset
  • Bath toys
  • Wooden blocks, possibly with peg people to add a small world element

Ooo, automatic list formatting! That makes it look like I know what I'm doing...

I'd say that's more than enough!

Mine is 2 just before Xmas.

She's getting
Bday - scooter off grandparents, couple books & an electronic drawing pad (£9 set of 2) from us

Xmas
Balance bike (2nd hand), couple books, a jigsaw, a backpack from us
A term of outdoor playgroup from grandparents

Don't buy for the sake of buying! Esp at that age.

A trainset
A tent
Board Puzzles
Playdough
dressing up costumes

DuploTrain · 06/10/2023 23:10

Tea set / toy plates to accompany the fruit so he can serve it to you. We also have a wooden cake that can be cut which is a big hit.

Duplo number train was the first duplo thing my DS got into at about 2. I got two sets secondhand so he could make a longer train.
