Welfare Check - what is it?

I had a conversation with MASH (mult-agency safeguarding hub) about a concern I raised about dad. At the end of the conversation she asked if they could do a welfare check at the school. I said 'yes', not really thinking it through. I am now worried this will get back to dad, whereas I explicitly agreed with MASH to keep him out of it for now.

What does this welfare check mean exactly? Do I need to get ahead of this and talk to the school that this is coming up and ask them to not tell dad?

I am going to call MASH tomorrow to ask for clarification but I am sat here with thoughts running through my head!

when you say Dad, do you mean your dad or do you mean your childs dad? i will assume you mean the father of your child and that you share custordy?

they may contact school liason and ask about the childs behaviour in school on days dad drops off compared to days mum drops off?

would need a bit more background to comment further
