My DD is 5 and still in nappies at night. I gave up the fight about 6 months ago, when she wakes up with dry in the morning I might try her without a nappy

DD1 is 4.2 and like many of you I tried going "cold turkey" or should that be "cold nappy" without pyjama pants at night for a while. In 3 weeks we had about 5 dry nights and that was only due to lifting her 3 times. SHe was shatterd from not getting a good night's sleep and I was shattered from changing and washing her bed. So she's back in pyjama pants now until they are dry in the morning.

I wet the bed (because there was no such thing as pyjama pants 30 years ago) until I was 7 so this has really supported the hormone idea for me in that it is probably hereditary. Also have a strange kidney but that's another story... Not really expecting DD1 to be dry at night for another couple of years. Don't see it as a problem, really, except for the fact that I'm keeping Huggies in business! Anyone know of a cheaper version of pyjama pants?

thought i would give you an update:

after reading DD1 the riot act for weeing in her nappy the minute it was put on, she has now had 4 nights of dry nappies.

night 1 i used pampers feel and learn - and told her i wanted to see the strawberries (which fade if she wees) still there in the morning. they were. she got up about 4am to have a wee though.

since then i have heard her go for a wee late at night and quite early morning, but she seems to have done it!

i haven't limited her bedtime drink, she still has hot chocolate before bed. I'm going to give it another week and then brave it without a nappy-pant.

thank you! she now has 5 stickers and is looking forward to choosing her treat tomorrow.

The trouble is she is in love with Diego and has now seen the Go Diego Go game for the Nintendo Wii on Nick Jr and would like that for her treat!
flipping eck. i was thinking a magazine, or a whole packet of smarties!

hmmm, i wonder if dh has put her up to this... he's been after a Wii for ages

A Wii. How appropriate! Long may she not Wii at night!
