How does your child act at nursery pick-up?

My son will saunter out of nursery really slowly, face like thunder. He won’t talk to me for a good ten minutes into our walk home.

Most of the other children get excited to see their parents and run out, but not mine. He absolutely loves nursery and has lots of friends there, and we’ve never had a problem dropping him off.

Could it just be tiredness?

DS runs to me big smile shouts "mummy, it's my mummy yay!" then he jumps at me and I swing him round and give him a big hug, proper fairy tale pick ups.

DD used to cry, literally burst into tears as soon as she saw me "no I don't want to go yet I want to stay here for tea" I used to have to bundle her under my arm grab her bag and bundle her out the door!

They are all different!

Run out to see us happily - and then run around the hall, the garden and do their best to throw themselves into traffic.

Tired post nursery children are AWFUL. Just grit your teeth and get through it.

DD is super excited to see me, big cuddles and kisses. Then as soon as we get to the car she cries that she wants to go back, the novelty of seeing me wears off very quickly!

Eldest refused to come and had to be allowed something special to take home to get in the car which she promptly dropped on the floor of the car and never bothered with until the next morning

Youngest runs out and back in the next morning - with arms out wide excited happy and with kisses at the ready
