Baby winter clothes - help?!

what should a baby wear in winter?

particularly in the car. When I say baby he will be 9-12 months, not walking or crawling?

more so in mornings early when going to nursery in the car. I know they aren’t suppose to wear coats in the car seat and I can’t warm the car up beforehand and leave it as not safe

what do people do normally? Take them in the car places with a blanket over them then put a coat on or pramsuit on when get to the destination?

I’ve bought hats mittens jumpers gloves a pramsuit and a coat I just don’t know what to do re coats and pramsuits and the car seat as it will be freezing in winter at like 7am

also as not walking etc, do they need shoes or pram shoes to keep them warm?

I used to use a thicker cardigan or fleece jacket

A thick jumper/cardigan and blanket, or a fleece based all in one or fleece cardigan. Fleece is good as no padding.

Layers are key. If you dress baby in a vest, long sleeved top and thin sweatshirt/jumper then you can use a hat if it's really cold and tuck a blanket around them. Even if it's really cold a car should warm up enough in 5 minutes that they'll be ok for the journey and you can whip the blanket off. Better to be a bit too cool than too hot.

We used a fleece jacket with a good, hat on and blanket round.

It's good if they will keep warm socks on. I know some babies just pull them off though. A hat, hoodie, warm jogging bottoms, long sleeve vest. A coat to put on once you have arrived.

Thin layers. Blanket over them in the car seat, nothing under the straps. Moccons moccasin shoe sock things are brilliant for their feet.

Cardigans, blanket over the top of straps. Even on the coldest of days they won't freeze in the brief few minutes it takes for the car heating to kick in
