Very excited as our twins are due at the end of October!! Any tips or things you wish you had known before becoming a parent?

Congratulations!!

Your DH will parent differently to you and if you’re a control freak like me (😇) you might have to remind yourself that what they are doing is different but OK!

My DH and I focus on being a team no matter how sleep deprived and irrationally (or rationally) angry we are with each other. Kids love stability and there’s nothing that tests a relationship like a baby - or two! Research shows that babies do get stressed when there are raised voices and conflict so they do know when something is amiss (from “and baby makes three” by Gottman and Gottman) - trying to keep the peace and love is important to us.

You may feel like you don’t have any clue what you’re doing but neither does anyone else so just keep smiling and keep going!

Be flexible on naps, and try to encourage your twins in being flexible!

It's been so helpful with mine that they became used to napping in the pram. Settling two in cots can be really tough if you don't have a spare pair of hands. Double pram is just easier!
