Hello, my DD (7) school phoned me and said that my child had tickled another girl and accidentally touched her private area. The other child is the same age. When i asked my daughter what happened she told me a few of them where tickling each other and the other child walked up to them so my DD reached to tickled her aswel and the girl moved backwards. My DD apologised straight away. Its now gone down as a Safeguarding incident. Im worried about what this means for my daughter. She knows about private areas and that you dont touch others. It was a innocent game and a accident.

Your poor dd, she must be mortified. Its obviously been blown out of context. The only positive you can take from this is explaining to your dd that whilst you know nothing was meant, these rules and follow ups are to keep her and her friends safe. Tell her she isn't in trouble.

Ive told her to not play tickle games anymore and reminded her about saftey and that the child did the correct thing reporting what happened as noone is allowed to touch private parts. She thinks on monday she will get into trouble at school. Ive tried reassuring her that she won't but im worried about how this is effecting her. She is so sad about it all.
